Mission
The Consortium is an association of North American independent boarding schools. Its mission is to promote and sustain international understanding primarily through admission of students from countries with emerging market economies to leading North American independent schools.
History
The Consortium was launched is July 2005 as the American and Canadian Consortium of Independent Schools. It has specialized in finding schools for children from Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Ukraine, with its representational office in Moscow and a solid network of partners throughout Eurasia. In early 2006, the Consortium recruited its first student from Mainland China and plans to continue to work there in 2006-2007. In 2006-2007, the Consortium arranged for 14 students from countries with transitional economies to study in a Consortium school.
