Blue Ridge School - St George, Virginia
Academics
Blue Ridge School provides capable and willing young men of good character an environment in which to develop and enjoy their own academic successes and personal growth. Within a carefully structured college preparatory curriculum and in a unique Blue Ridge Mountain setting, a caring and committed community helps each young man to experience, enjoy, and expand upon his potential for success in all aspects of his life. We take special pride in helping those students who may not have realized their potential in other academic settings.
Every program, every goal, and every decision is aimed at providing the most rigorous, holistic educational environment that our resources will allow. Our educational charge is to facilitate learning - to make learning exciting, challenging and relevant for the future.
At Blue Ridge, we view education as a life-long odyssey. It is a journey without end. An education here is holistic, with intellectual, physical, social, spiritual and emotional dimensions. We believe in training the mind to think critically and creatively. Our students are taught to understand why learning is important. We also believe in developing skills needed to succeed in an increasingly interdependent, technology-based world. Perhaps most importantly, a Blue Ridge education includes inculcation of virtues needed to be good people, committed family members, responsible citizens and assets to society.
