Unique Programs or Strengths of School

Bossov Ballet Theater

Bossov Ballet Theatre is MCI's resident ballet company. An independent corporation with its own National Board of Directors, the theatre is both a performing company and an international ballet school.

Leading the Bossov Ballet Theatre is its artistic director, Andrei Bossov. In St. Petersburg, Russia, Andrei was principal dancer, choreographer, and director of the Kirov Ballet Company. He taught ballet at Vaganova Academy, the finest ballet school in the world.

MCI dancers perform to sold-out audiences in a variety of Maine locations throughout the year. Ballet enthusiasts from California, Florida, Alaska, and the shores of the Mediterranean have come to Maine to see the Bossov dancers perform.

The Bossov troupe includes dancers of many ages and levels of experience. While MCI dancers receive full academic credit for ballet training during the academic day, they may also train after school with professional dancers who come to Bossov to appear in guest roles. The experience of performing on stage with large casts of older and younger dancers is an invaluable opportunity for aspiring dancers.
