Robin Hood Camp
Established 1928
Brooksville, Maine

Robin Hood has earned its reputation as one of the finest children’s camps in the world for the quality and diversity of its program, the low camper to staff ratios, the clarity of vision, and the camp philosophy. Since 1928, families from around the world, searching for the most nurturing, stimulating, challenging, protective, and safe summer camp, have entrusted their children to the Littlefield family. Our unique location, directly bordering a three-mile lake and the coastal seawaters of Maine’s Penobscot Bay, allows us to offer an unprecedented range of activities and opportunities. While our vibrant waterfront is highly regarded, we also take pride in the quality and variety of our land sports and activities. Campers need not be great athletes or highly competitive in order to succeed at Robin Hood. They need not have prior experience to participate in any of our sports, only a willingness to try. We are a lifetime sports camp that accents individual skill building and fundamentals committed to acquiring top of the line equipment for all of our activities to learn these skills. However, the camper who is a competitive athlete also has a place at Robin Hood.

Three defining differences between Robin Hood and other general residential camps are: the quality of staff, instruction, and the expansiveness of the program. Most camps offer only a gentle introduction to a dozen or so sports, while at Robin Hood we offer a far wider array of activities, many instructed at a high level. We pride ourselves in finding staffers one might expect to find only at specialty camps and annually attract world class, champion caliber water skiers, wake boarders, sailors, martial artists, equestrians, and soccer and tennis coaches, among others. We look for positive role models in our staffers who will inspire a sense of excellence in campers – on and off the field.

With more than thirty sports and activity options offered daily combined with an ambitious and adventurous trip program available to campers of all ages, not only is boredom not an option, but also campers are continually faced with options from which to choose for themselves. Campers decide their schedules both weekly – for the morning activities – and daily – for the afternoon activities enabling them to choose the level of competition and focus with which they would like to pursue an activity. Finally, the greatest part of Robin Hood is the quality of the campers themselves. We insist upon strong teacher recommendations and a personal interview with a director. By surrounding children with positive, enthusiastic peers, they have a far greater chance for successful integration and a positive growth experience.
